ARUNA PO-CHING
New Zealand-born Samoan/Chinese
*Director *Choreographer *Dancer *Radio Broadcaster *Singer *Actor
A performer all my life, I started formal training in the arts with Pacific Theatre in Auckland in 1990. Film, television, theatre, musicals and freelance singing, I came with all these experiences to Sydney in 1995 and had in mind to be actor/singer in the Aussie scene. However, my path took me down the Polynesian dancing scene from 1998 and I haven't looked back since.
In Sydney my experiences expanded and included dancer and backing vocals for Jive Kayana and African Diaspora, radio announcer for Koori Radio, Samoan breakfast show, MC for dance shows and featured spots on commercials and short films. I currently sing and dance for Zoh Zoh Ensemble, singing Afro-Ejo music.
I have currently moved to Auckland, New Zealand to start Pasifika Sway here. The dancers remain in Australia and continue performing shows. If you would like them to perform at your next event please send me an email.
Thank you.
